A 59-year-old Portland woman has gone missing under suspicious circumstances and homicide detectives are asking for the public's help to find her.
Renee Sandidge was last seen at her home in the 3900 block of Northeast 66th Avenue Saturday around 6 a.m., according to Portland police.
Homicide detectives investigated the disappearance and said it was suspicious, based on a number of factors.
Police are not releasing many specific details about the incident, but they said a Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) had been at the home overnight and found "security features which required exceptional safety efforts to safely overcome."
A noise, which police said was not gunfire, was also reported. Tear gas was employed on the home and some area residents were evacuated.
Police said there is no danger to the public at this time but they hope the public can help them find Sandidge.
She was described as white, 5 feet 2 inches tall and 100 pounds. She has red hair and brown eyes and was last seen on foot.
Anyone with information about Sandidge's whereabouts was asked to call 911 immediately. Anyone with non-emergency information about the situation should call Detective Slater at 503-823-9319.
