A Silver Alert has been issued for a Westbury teen who went missing early Saturday morning and is in need of medication, Nassau police said.
Maya McNair, 13, was last seen at 810 Baldwin Drive in Westbury wearing blue jeans and possibly grey sneakers, police said.
Police believe Maya, who suffers from cognitive disorders, may have been traveling to the Elmont-area near Meacham Avenue.
Maya is described as black, 5-foot-2, 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Contact police if you have any information on Maya's whereabouts.
The Silver Alert Program has been established in order to disseminate immediate information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.
