URGENT MISSING MAN: James Gardner, 71 - Chicago, ILLINOIS (is new to the area and may appear confused)

A 71-year-old man who suffers from dementia wandered away from his Southwest Side home and is missing, police said tonight while asking for the public's help in finding him.

James Gardner was last seen Friday when he left his home on the 6400 block of South Maplewood Avenue, police said in a missing person report. He is new to the area and might appear confused.

The report describes Gardner as black, 5-foot-5 and 140 pounds with brown eyes, grey hair and a medium complexion.

He was last seen wearing a burgundy jacket, blue jeans, and white and red shoes.

Gardner has been known to frequent the area of Western Avenue and 63rd Street.


Anyone with information is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
