DES MOINES —
Des Moines police said Karina Rodriques-Resendiz was found in a house on southeast 9th Street.
Authorities brought her to Mercy Medical Center around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police said she was with Sergio Lopez, who is now booked into Polk County Jail. Lopez was wanted in connection with third-degree sexual abuse charges.
He now faces charges for violating a no-contact order with Karina.
Police did not treat the case as a kidnapping because they believe Karina chose to go with Lopez.
Thank you for your attention,
Allison Miller
