Police are searching for a man with suffers from dementia who went missing from his Portage Park neighborhood home on the Northwest Side on Friday afternoon.
Richard Chippo, 31, was last seen about 2 p.m. in the 4500 block of North Lavergne, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.
Chippo has a limited mental capacity due to an injury and suffers from mild depression, though he is not thought to be a danger to himself or others, the alert said.
He is described as a 5-foot-7, 230-pound black man with a light complexion, last seen wearing a dark blue hooded jacket, gray coat and blue sweatpants. He also has tattoos on his hands, police said.
Chippo is known to frequent the Jefferson Park Library, 5363 W. Lawrence, police said.
