#MISSING: Bobbie Jo Hatter, 40 - Bath, NEW YORK (was said to have looked disoriented and confused when last seen)

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, friends, and family are searching for a Kanona woman missing since Wednesday.

A helicopter buzzes overhead, while police and neighbors search on foot and ATVs. They are looking for 40 year old Bobbie Jo Hatter, last seen Wednesday night. "We have not been able to find her," said Hatter's father, William Margeson. "We don't know where she is. And we just want someone to tell us where she's at."

Hatter's father says she left his home just after 5:00 Wednesday night, and police say the last time she was seen was walking down Chamberlain Road in the Town of Bath, and that she looked disoriented and confused.

Police say they are expanding the area of their investigation. "And attempting to make sure that there is nothing that we're missing in that area to indicate any sort of foul play or a body of any kind," said Steuben County Undersheriff James Allard.

For neighbors who live near the search area, they say Hatter's disappearance worries them. "It's actually really freaky because me and my friends walk this road all the time, so it's unexpected," said Shyila Smith.

Police say that it initially appeared that Hatter may have gotten a ride from the area. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, sneakers, and a black jacket with white stripes.

For police, and her family, they are just hoping she is found safe. "We're always hoping that we find people safe and healthy," said Undersheriff Allard. "That's what we're always hoping to find."

"I'm hoping she's still alive," said Margeson. "And I'm going to trust and believe God that she's still alive, and that's all there is to it."

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office says that no evidence of Hatter's location was found during their search today. The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with any information on Hatter's whereabouts to call 911. All information will be forwarded to them.
