Pinellas County deputies are seeking the public's help in locating a Clearwater woman who has been missing since December.
Detectives say Roberta "Rene" Cable, 41, was last seen Dec. 14 at 1700 Owen Drive, where she was living with some other people, and her disappearance is considered suspicious.
The woman does not have a car, and was last seen wearing a yellow tank top, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.
One reason investigators believe her disappearance is suspicious is because Cable typically communicates with her family, which is out of state, during the Christmas holidays, but didn't do so, said Cristen Rensel, a spokeswoman for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office was alerted to Cable's vanishing two days after Christmas. Detectives have talked with those who knew her, and have checked out local hospitals on the chance she was somehow injured but unable to communicate.
"Our detectives say it's unlike her not to be in contact with anyone," Rensel said.
At the same time, Cable was supposed to start a new job at a International House of Pancakes in Clearwater on Dec. 16, Rensel said.
On Friday, investigators decided to seek the public's assistance in locating Cable, who goes by 'Rene,' Rensel said. She is described as a white female, 5 feet tall and weighs 115 pounds. She has hazel eyes and blonde hair.
