WILMINGTON TOWNSHIP - A woman who went missing from her Wilmington Township home Thursday has been reunited with her family.
Marjorie Foutz, 67, was found about 10:30 a.m. Saturday after she walked into a neighbor’s home in the 36700 block of South Irish Lane in Wilmington, Will County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Ken Kaupas said.
Foutz apparently walked out Thursday and crawled underneath a subcompact car parked in the driveway directly west of her home, where she stayed until the cold weather overnight prompted her to climb into the unlocked car, Kaupas said.
The neighbor alerted police of Foutz’s whererabouts after she returned home from a trip Saturday morning and found Foutz had entered her home through her open garage, Kaupas said.
Foutz was taken with minor scrapes to Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Kaupas said. She was disoriented and could not tell detectives why she left her home.
Foutz suffers from several medical conditions, including advanced cardiac disease and diabetes, the sheriff’s office said.
Searches were conducted Thursday night and Friday by police and firefighters.
