Sad to report that Karen's earthly body has been located. Prayers for her loved ones.
The body of a Newton teen reported missing Thursday afternoon has been found in Natick.
Karen Douglas, 18, reportedly went missing the afternoon of Oct. 3. A note from Newton North High School Principal Jennifer Price, quoted on the Village14 blog, said police were not treating the incident as suspicious at the time.
According to WCVB, Newton Police have now confirmed Douglas' body has been found in Natick.
From the report:
Authorities spent a couple of days searching the Cabot Woods area for the teen before locating her body. ... No further details were provided but Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apothaker said no foul play is suspected.
Douglas was a member of Community Rowing Inc. in Brighton. The organization released a statement Sunday:
It is with deep and extraordinary sadness that I write to let you know that we have lost a young member of our CRI Family.
Our hearts are broken for Karen's family. We know that Karen was surrounded by love and all of our hearts and prayers are with Karen's family today.
Respectfully,
Amy Kinney,
