URGENT MISSING WOMAN: Katherine Lee Baker, 56 - Anchorage, ALASKA (NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION)
Anchorage police are asking for public help to find a local woman who was last seen more than two weeks ago.
According to APD spokesperson Anita Shell, 56-year-old Katherine Lee Baker hasn’t been seen since July 3, when she was spotted by management staff at her apartment complex near Oklahoma Street in East Anchorage.
“Baker had mentioned visiting the Anchor Point and Homer areas, but is not one to camp out,” Shell wrote in a Friday statement. “It is unusual for Baker to be absent from her home and to miss regular telephonic contact with her family. Additionally, Baker has a medical condition that requires medication.”
Shell says family members reported Baker missing Tuesday. She says investigators are looking into whether her financial records indicate any transactions near Anchor Point or Homer.
“(Baker) doesn’t have contact with her daughter -- that’s every day or every other day -- and hasn’t been back to her apartment,” Shell said.
Baker stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds; she has long, brownish-gray hair and blue eyes. She drives a red 2010 Subaru Legacy sedan with Alaska license plate GLR619, which has dark-tinted windows and a flush-mounted spoiler.
Anyone with information on Baker’s whereabouts should call APD at 786-8900.
