Brother Confirms Missing Wheat Ridge Woman’s Remains Found

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (CBS4) – The brother of a Wheat Ridge woman who has been missing since early February has confirmed to CBS4 that her body has been found.
Leann “Annie” Meyer was last seen on Feb. 7. Her brother, Mark Meyer, told CBS4 that her remains were found in Park County on July 4.
“Investigators with the Park County Sheriff’s Office were called after a group of people found what appeared to be human remains near their cabin,” sheriff’s spokesperson John Romero said in a statement.
Romero said the sheriff’s office notified the Wheat Ridge Police Department about the discovery on Monday.
Wheat Ridge police are planning a news conference to discuss the case on Tuesday.
In March police found Meyer’s SUV and pickup truck in different locations just miles from her home. Annie Meyer, from Minnesota, had eight brothers and sisters who had been very involved in her search.“We do believe each time we were getting closer and closer and now we are at the point; now we hope to find him and find out exactly what happened,” Mark Meyer told CBS by phone on Monday. “She is a good down-to-earth person, would help anybody out if she could; bright, friendly, outdoors woman … great family member, great sister.”
Annie Meyer’s roommate, Melissa Miller, has refused to cooperate with police. She hired a lawyer after the disappearance. In May, some of Annie Meyer’s friends took matters into their own hands. They found and confronted Miller themselves.
A source who witnessed the confrontation told CBS4 Miller admitted to abandoning Miller’s SUV, which police would later find a mile from the home the two shared. She said she did that because the house was locked.
Miller also said there was blood in the vehicle, and that it came from a bloody nose that Annie Meyer had.
Kyle Rasberry, a family friend of Miller’s who spoke with CBS4 in May, said Miller “is not doing well.” He said he doesn’t think Miller has anything to do with the disappearance.
Wheat Ridge Police have said the case has been their top priority.
