A missing child alert has been issued for a middle school student on the city’s east side.
Columbus police need the public’s assistance to locate Erik Thompson Junior, 12, who was last seen leaving a family friends house late Thursday evening.
The father of the missing 12-year-old says his son walked to school on Thursday morning and did not return home after leaving a friend’s house at about 11 p.m. Thursday night.
The missing boy is described at 4 feet 11inches and weighs about 90 pounds. He has a short, black, afro-style haircut and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and khaki pant, the school uniform for Sherwood Middle School.
Police believe Thompson could be in the 4400 block of Dundee Avenue, which was the last place he was seen with friends. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Columbus police at 645-4545.
