MEDICAL NEEDS #MISSING: Carol Gardner, 73 - (Dementia - multiple sclerosis)

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are requesting the public's help in locating a 73-year-old dementia and multiple sclerosis patient who walked away from her home Saturday night.

Carol Gardner is a white female, about 5-foot-5, 109 pounds with blue eyes and black hair with slight graying near her ears. She was last seen wearing a brown jogging suit, red hospital socks and a white beanie hat. She did not take her walker that she usually needs to walk. [NOTE: She is not wearing the blonde wig shown in the photo.]

She disappeared from the area near Lincoln and 42nd streets between 6 and 8:30 p.m. 

Metro Police are currently out in the neighborhood with Chatham Emergency Management Agency staff and volunteers looking for Gardner. Three search dogs have been brought in. Police helicopter Eagle 1 is also airborne and the GBI is preparing a Mattie's Call alert.


Police ask that anyone who sees her call Emergency 911 immediately.
