Jimenez had been missing since July 18, when she left her apartment in the 300 block of Adams Street without her car keys, purse or bicycle.
She was last seen about 2 a.m. that night wearing a blue dress with white polka dots and a green vest.
A window to her house had been broken, and blood was found smeared throughout the house.
Jimenez's family had distributed posters throughout the city, and conducted their own searches for her hoping to find clues.
Still, there had been no sign of her until last week, when a group of boys fishing stumbled onto her body.
Authorities said her body was badly decomposed.
The sheriff's office said no additional information on the case was immediately available, citing an ongoing homicide investigation.
