Law enforcement officers are seeking information about the whereabouts of a missing 25-year-old Lee County woman.
Foul play is not suspected, Lee County Sheriff Capt. Jeff Johnson said Thursday.
Janel Ophelia Livingston, 25, of the 7700 block of Villanow Drive, Sanford, was reported missing by her mother, Ophelia Warren Livingston, of the same address, on Sunday, according to a Lee County Sheriff's Office report released Thursday morning. The daughter reportedly left her home to shop at Walmart on Dec. 27 and was last seen wearing brown Ugg boots, black leggings and a black and brown top, and last seen driving a 2007 GMV Envoy with N.C. registration BEY-1068.
"We want to check on her well being," Johnson said, adding the department will use the media, among other means, to locate her.
Livingston's mother said she's not sure what to expect but wants her daughter home.
"If you see her or recognize her, please call me or the police so we can try and bring her home and bring her home safely," Ophelia Livingston said.
People offered prayers for the family on The Herald's Facebook post about the missing woman, and at least one person said she'd seen the woman in recent days.
As of Thursday afternoon, Johnson reported that there were no new developments in the case.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this person is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff's Office at (919) 775-5531.
