URGENT MISSING: Frank Bush Jr., 80 - Liberty Township, INDIANA (driving a gray 1998 Mercury Marquis 4-door with IN plate 279 MEW)

Police are seeking the public’s help locating a Porter County man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Police believe he was involved in a hit-and-run accident in North Hammond about 5:20 p.m. Friday.

Porter County police Sgt. Larry LaFlower said Frank Bush Jr., 80, left his Liberty Township home on County Road 150 West about Friday morning to buy cigars.

Police said he was seen about 10:30 a.m. at the Phillips 66 gas station on Calumet Avenue in Chesterton.

LaFlower said Hammond police believe he was involved in an accident at the Gas-A-Roo gas station at 3350 Calumet Ave. Police said they believe he fled from the accident northbound on Calumet Avenue.

Bush is white, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, has short gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a black hat.

He was driving a gray 1998 Mercury Marquis four-door with Indiana license plate of 279 MEW. Police said he likely has front-end damage to his car.

LaFlower said Bush regularly went to buy cigars, but they believe some road construction near his home may have disoriented him.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or their local police department.
