Back on Saturday July 27th, The Kentucky State Police were notified of a missing man, 45-year-old Mark Allen Proffitt of 1342 Center Point Road, Tompkinsville. Yesterday at approximately 10:55am, the Kentucky State Police, Post 15 received a call from Tompkinsville Police Department reference a body had been found near the intersection of M.O. Lane and Richards Dr in the city limits of Tompkinsville. The male subject was identified as Mark A. Proffitt The cause of death is to be determined. Yesterday at approximately 3:00 p.m. CST KSP Post 15 Columbia arrested Joseph Tooley, age 32, of Tompkinsville. Tooley was arrested and charged with Assault 4th Degree in reference to an incident involving Mark Proffit which occurred July 26th. Tooley was lodged in the Monroe County Jail. Pending autopsy results additional charges may follow. This case remains under investigation. |
