An 18-year-old Live Oak teen was reported missing Thursday by his grandfather who lives with him. David Edward Buscher, 18, of 21760 160th St., near Luraville, is reported to suffer from mental issues and has three tumors in his head causing him to have a limited mindset and may have possibly been picked up by a vehicle near his home, according to a report from the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office.
Buscher was last seen around 5:15 Thursday morning at the 160th Street home he shares with his grandfather and 20-year-old sister.
Schoate stated to SCSO that sometime between 5:15 a.m. and 8 a.m., Buscher left the residence by unknown means to an unknown location while Schoate and Buscher's 20-year-old sister were asleep.
According to reports, Buscher and his grandfather, Lawrence Schoate, who has legal custody of Buscher, had an argument around 5:15 a.m. over Buscher not doing his chores. Schoate stated Buscher may have left because he was angry.
K-9 units from Hamilton and Suwannee CI were called in and tracked a set of foot tracks on 160th Street leading in an easterly direction toward SR 51. According to K-9 officers, the foot tracks appeared to come from a boot style shoe with a smooth flat sole, but the tracks stopped prior to reaching SR 51. Reports state that Buscher owns a pair of cowboy boots and that they were missing from his room.
SCSO said it is possible that Buscher may have been hitchhiking and may have been picked up in a vehicle.
Buscher is described as 5'08", 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes with a thin build.
If you have any information on Buscher's whereabouts, please contact the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office at 386-362-2222 or 911.
