An 11-year-old Capitan girl who was reported as a runaway on Saturday is safely back at home, the Ruidoso News reported.

“She is home safe,” Lincoln County Undersheriff Ken Cramer told the News.

Cramer said the girl was with relatives in California and returned to Lincoln County to the woman who had been caring for her, the News said.

No charges have been filed so far, but the sheriff’s office is working with the state Children, Youth and Families Department to see whether charges are warranted, Cramer told the paper.
