DuPage County sheriff's office officials said Friday they are looking for a 21-year-old man who went missing from his Addison-area residence this week.

Authorities are looking for Mateusz "Matt" Rybarski, who was last seen by family members Monday at his residence in unincorporated DuPage County near Addison, according to a news release.

─>Rybarski's unoccupied vehicle and backpack were found Thursday afternoon near Salt Creek in Addison, but after conducting a complete search of the area, police could not locate Rybarski.

─>The sheriff's office said Rybarski has a history of mental illness and has refused to take his prescribed medications. Officials think he may be heading to Montana by train or bus.

─>Rybarski is described as 5'11", 180 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

According to his Facebook page, Rybarski is a 2009 graduate of Lake Zurich High School and was taking classes at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The university's athletic website lists Rybarski as once being a member of the men's gymnastics team.
