Located Safely: Ebony Peters, 14, Portland, OR

Update 1/20 3:29 pm: Ebony has been found.

KOIN has confirmed with Roxann Dentler, the missing girl's mother, that the family was notified by police of her discovery around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Dentler says the 14-year-old was located at someone's house; no word yet as to whether any related charges are being filed against those in that home. The girl was immediately taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Ore., to be examined.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A mother is scouring the streets in search of her missing daughter.

The 14-year-old Aloha-area girl has special needs, and was seen on a MAX train in Portland the Friday before last.

"I just want my daughter home," Roxann Dentler tells KOIN. "I want her home and safe."

With her daughter now missing for more than a week, Dentler continues to hand out fliers with her daughter's face on them. She says 14-year-old Ebony Peters is developmentally delayed -- in her mother's words "a 5-year-old in a 14-year-old's body."

"It's so hard not to break down every five minutes," the Aloha mother says. "But if I don't stay strong and stay on this, then who is..."

Washington County sheriff's deputies learned Friday that Peters may be in the company of older adults and she could be living in what authorities are calling "a dangerous lifestyle."

Ebony Peters takes medication to help with her developmental issues. Without it, her mother says she may be helpless, vulnerable and at risk of being taken advantage of.

"If you're keeping a child who's this disabled, using my daughter for something..." Dentler says. "You need to return her home."

Over the weekend Dentler searched transit stops in the freezing fog -- scared to death about the safety of her daughter and doing what she can to bring her home.
