That's how deep the hole they dug and buried the beautiful earthly body of Danielle Hill Alvarado. Her given name has been taken back. She is now, once again, Danielle Dillard Hill. It is no longer necessary for her to carry the last name of the man whom she pledged her love and faithfulness in marriage to...only to have her life taken away from... by him.
It took 2 years and 10 months before the family of Danielle was finally notified that her body was found. She was murdered by the hands of her husband, Jonathan Alvarado. He stabbed her in the bathroom of the home she and he shared with his parents. Stabbed, 18 times. He and his father carted Danielle out of the home through a rear bedroom window...two days after she was murdered. The entire time she was "missing" they stuck to a concocted story that she "left her home with another man."
They, along with many other family members and acquaintances of Jonathan's, carried and kept the secret that he not only repeatedly stabbed his beautiful wife, leaving a horrid trail in the bathroom...all because she wanted out of the marriage.
They then kept her body in the bed for two days until the grave was dug... five feet deep...and then put her body through the bedroom window and carted her off to bury her.
To bury her away from her young daughter, her mother, father, sister, grandparents, niece and many friends who looked desperately for her. Lying to police and even going so far as to rip down the missing posters that were hung in the town on numerous occasions.
A truly tragic and horrible crime that did not need to have happened.
All Jonathan had to do was allow Danielle to leave him.
But instead he took her life.
With that said, we hope that no other young wife, girlfriend...and even men...will ever have to pay the price of their life because they want out of a relationship.
We hope this memorial and tribute to Danielle will give just one person the strength they need to pick up and leave the abusive partner, in secret if they must, and go straight to a home where they will be protected.
We don't want to learn that another young life will be taken and buried...five feet deep.
