The Internet is buzzing with the story of a local 16-year-old girl who disappeared on Monday with her infant daughter.
Police believe Diana Zamora Cardenas may have fled to Mexico to be with her boyfriend, Nicolas Alcala, who is currently wanted for murder in Huron.
Cardenas was last seen at home with her daughter, Davina Alcala, two days ago. Investigators said they’ve received little support from those who know the teenage runaway, who might be hiding out in Avenal or Kettleman City before heading south.
Alcala, 19, allegedly shot and killed 34-year-old Pedro Aispuro in early June during a gang dispute. Authorities described Alcala as a gang member who goes by the nickname “Nico.” He’s considered to be armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Cardenas’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Hanford Police Department at 585-2540 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
