San Jose police are asking for the public's help in locating missing San Jose teen Evgenia (Zhenya) Waite who disappeared Friday evening from her Willow Glen home after an argument with dad.
According to tearful mother Virginia Waite, Evgenia, who goes by the name of Zhenya, told her father she was going to River Glen Park in Willow Glen at 8 p.m. Friday Oct. 26, and has not returned since then.
A missing person flier has been prepared for the 15-year-old youth and was being distributed to the community by several friends, family members and San Jose City Councilwoman Rose Herrera's office.
The fliers have also been posted within a mile radius from the girl's father's home in Willow Glen, where she disappeared from, and in the Evergreen area of San Jose.
The teen is described by her mother as having brown hair and brown eyes, being 5-foot-1 and weighing about 100 pounds. She attends St. Lawrence Academy in Santa Clara and has three siblings.
"We're working with the police to find her," said Virginia Waite, sobbing. "We have no idea where she went."
The desperate mother said it's been devastating to know her daughter could be in harm's way and pleaded for the public's help in finding her. "I just want her home," she said.
The flier stated she was last seen wearing a black musical band t-shirt with the words "blood on the dance floor," emblazoned on it, black pants with long zippers, plaid jacket and grey shoes.
Those with information are urged to contact the San José Police Department's Missing Persons Unit at (408) 277-4786.
