West Columbia police want to talk with anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Adam Berry, 22, who vanished Wednesday from a motel just off Interstate I-26.
"There's a possibility there's some type of foul play," West Columbia police Capt. Scott Morrison said Friday.
Police do not normally issue bulletins about healthy people who disappear unless there are extenuating circumstances. Morrison declined to elaborate on details.
Berry, whose listed address is Gaston, had been staying at an extended stay motel at 114 McSwain Drive, Morrison said.
Berry was last seen leaving that motel with Michael Sulier, who's 25, police said.
Berry was driving a blue 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a paper license tag. The vehicle has a dent in the driver's side door and a black hood. His direction of travel and possible destination is unknown, Morrison said.
Berry is a white male with black hair and about 5-6. When least seen, Berry was wearing a black T-shirt with white and blue stripes, jeans and green Nike shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or call the West Columbia Police Department at 803-936-6276. People can also call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME SC.
