WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Police found the Winston-Salem man, who went missing nearly two weeks ago, dead in a heavily wooded area Monday morning after a large-scale search.
The search team found Eduardo Mendez Hernandez, 44, in a creek. He was about a half mile from his apartment located at 100 Stagecoach Road.
About 50 officers and 10 bloodhounds were involved in the search.
At this point police do not suspect foul play and are waiting on an autopsy report.
Hernandez was first reported missing Feb. 17. At that time police said they believed he was not wearing the right clothing for the cold weather and may have been intoxicated when he left his apartment.
