The Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office is searching for a woman who has been missing since late last month, when she left the Guilford group home in which she was staying.
Mary Jane Giddings, 22, is disabled and a ward of the state. She does not have a driver's license or a vehicle, the sheriff's office said in a news release posted on its Facebook page.
Giddings left her group home on the afternoon of Jan. 31. A friend claimed he dropped Giddings off at her sister's residence in Biddeford. Checks by the Biddeford Police Department at Giddings' sister's home, however, have yielded no results.
Giddings' family members believe that Giddings could be at a friend's home in the Biddeford area but do not know the address, the sheriff's office said.
Giddings last was seen walking in Biddeford. She is described as 5 feet tall, weighing 207 pounds with brown hard and brown eyes.
Anyone who has seen Giddings or has information about her whereabouts is urged to contact their local police department or the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office at 564-3304 and ask for Sgt Mike Gould.
