A Silver Alert has been issued for a North Carolina woman who officials said has not been seen for more than two weeks.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued an alert for Amy Kesters Sands, 47, of Cameron, on Friday after she was last seen Nov. 4 at an Aberdeen Walmart.
Authorities said Sands is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
She is described as a 47-year-old white woman, standing 5'3" and weighing 100 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes.
WRAL-TV reported that Sands had been in some kind of scuffle prior to her disappearance and had been taken to a hospital in Pinehurst to be treated for cuts.
Police told WRAL-TV that they do not currently suspect foul play. Anyone with any information on Sands' whereabouts can call the Aberdeen Police Department at (910) 947-2911.
