Metro Police confirm that a man who disappeared with his stepdaughter under suspicious circumstances and then later shot himself has died.
Police had been looking for Sam Teran, 75, of Las Vegas since his wife reported him and her daughter missing Wednesday.
Teran's stepdaughter, 46-year-old Susana Villalvalzo, remains missing, police said.
According to Metro, North Las Vegas Police officers were investigating a car at a Burger King restaurant at North Las Vegas Boulevard and Bruce Street at around 9 a.m. Friday. An officer tried to pull over the car, but Tehran grabbed a gun and shot himself.
Teran is married to Villalvalzo's mother. The three of them live together at the home on Sahara Ave. and Valley View Dr. Villalvalzo's mother found their cell phones and other belongings at the home Wednesday afternoon and reported her daughter missing.
Another family member told 8 News NOW she found blood inside the home's kitchen, along with a bucket and mop with blood on it, as if someone was trying to clean up. They suspect foul play is involved.
Family members believe Teran took Villalvalzo's body out in some luggage that is now missing.
"So, we think he put it in the luggage and took it to the desert or storage. He had a storage unit he rented about two years ago, and that is where they're going to go search," Villalvalzo's cousin Juan Villasenor said.
Homicide detectives were at the home, but police have not labeled the case a homicide.
Teran was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead late Friday afternoon. No one else was in the vehicle.

Villalvalzo, who may use the names Angelica Acosta or Susana Villalvalzo-Jimenez, is still missing. The family does say the two had a rocky relationship and did not get along.
