Fayetteville police were searching early Thursday for a 78-year-old man who is believed to be cognitively impaired.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for George Washington at about 1 a.m. after he went missing from a home in the 1000 block of Madonna Drive.
Washington is black, stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 195 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes, and he wears glasses.
When he disappeared, Washington was wearing a long sleeve shirt, light green dress pants and slippers.
Washington could be traveling in a white 2009 GMC Canyon pickup truck with North Carolina license tag BJJ-2151.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1830.
