Earthly body located; Miles Applebaum Armonk, New York

The body found Thursday evening in a New Castle nature preserve was that of Miles Applebaum, an Armonk man missing since Monday, the Westchester County Medical Examiner's office said.

Applebaum, a student at Temple University and a musician, was last seen leaving his home Monday morning in a green Volvo. His car was discovered Wednesday evening in a parking lot at the Glazier Preserve off Whippoorwill Road and a state forest ranger found his body at about 6 p.m. Thursday. North Castle police announced the discovery late Thursday night.
The medical examiner's office said Friday that the cause of death has yet to be determined but that the case does not appear to be suspicious.
The 21-year-old's disappearance on Monday prompted an outpouring of support on Facebook and across social media. Family friends helped organize a group prayer at Wampus Brook Park on Thursday before news broke of the discovery of a body. An online candlelight vigil garnered 64 candles in support of Applebaum.
Several emergency agencies helped in the search throughout the week, including North Castle police, the Chappaqua Fire Department, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, state police and state park police.
Because of the rough terrain of the 44-acre park, technical search and rescue, K-9 and aviation units also participated in the search.
