The Itasca County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating Anthony Scott Meyers, 19. Meyers left his Deer River residence on foot around 6:30 a.m., this morning after contacting friends, indicating he intended to harm himself.
Meyers then went into the woods near King Elementary in Deer River and as a precautionary measure a soft lockdown was implemented. There have been no direct threats made to the school districts.
Meyers is 5'11 tall, weighs 163 pounds, has hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a camo jacket, blue jeans and work boots.
Anyone who may have seen Meyers or has information about his whereabouts is asked not to approach Meyers but to contact the Itasca County Sheriff's Office at 800-458-8732 or dial 911.
