Chapel Hill police were searching early Saturday for a 90-year-old man who is believed to be suffering from dementia or a cognitive impairment.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Richard Leslie Silva at about 12:40 a.m. Saturday after he went missing from the 700 block of Weaver Dairy Road.
It's unclear where Silva may be headed.
Silva is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He has short gray hair and blue eyes. He wears dark, wife-framed glasses and has a walker that has a yellow ribbon tied to it.
When he disappeared, Silva was wearing a dark blue shirt, khaki pants and brown leather shoes.
Anyone with information about Silva's whereabouts should call the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-612-8240.
