A 20-year-old Iowa State University student has gone missing after she told people she was going to Minnesota to visit friends, police said.
Tong Shao, a junior chemical engineering major was last contacted Sept. 8, while she was in Iowa City, according to a post on the Ames Police Department's Facebook page. Since then, family and friends have not had contact with Shao and her phone has been disconnected.
"At this point, we have done everything we can do to locate her," according to the post.
Shao is originally from China. People are encouraged to contact the Ames Police Department at 515-239-5133 if they have information regarding Shao's whereabouts.
