The Ashburn Police Department is asking for help locating a missing person.
Richard Wood has not been seen or heard from since August 15th.
Ashburn police say that Wood was traveling with a friend through Laurel County, Kentucky during the morning hours of August 15th when they stopped to rest. His friend awoke from sleep between 3 and 4 a.m. to find Wood was not in the vehicle.
His friend checked the area, but could not locate him. The friend found an officer in the parking lot of the rest stop and asked for help locating him.
Shelters and hospitals have been contacted. Wood's is a diabetic and is disabled. He is 57 and is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact 229-567-2323.
