Officials in Spartanburg County are investigating after human remains were found Tuesday.
The coroner's office says the remains were found in a wooded area near the intersection of West Church Street and Seagle Road in Cowpens.
In a release by the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office, the remains have been identified as Mr. Ricky Lynn Godfrey, 50, of Blacksburg, SC.
Godfrey was reported missing on August 14th.
