SILVER ALERT: Robert Archie Averitte, 90 - Greensboro, NORTH CAROLINA (driving a 2004 beige Mercury Marquis with NC plate XVL-7132 - has his poodle with him)


A Silver Alert has been issued for a 90-year-old man who had his poodle with him, the N.C. Center for Missing Persons said in a news release.
Robert Archie Averitte was last seen at noon Friday in the 3600 block of Cherry Hill Drive in Greensboro, according to the release.
He left the area in a 2004, beige Mercury Marquis with N.C. license plate No. XVL-7132.
Averitte is unstable when he walks, has a bent middle finger on his right hand and is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, a release from Greensboro police states.
Averitte is white, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 168 pounds. He has short white hair and green eyes.
He was last seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.
