URGENT #MISSING: Julia Netzler, 52 - Security, COLORADO (Despondent - may need medication)

The family of a missing Colorado woman hopes she'll be home for Mother's Day.

Julia Netzler, 52, went missing from her Security home on April 1.  Her husband says she got out of bed at 5 a.m.  He went to check on her an hour later and she was gone.

Her son, Daniel, told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that she left a note behind.

"It said she didn't want to be found, don't look for her," he said.  "It said she wasn't going to hurt herself."

The family said that Netzler has a history of depression and is off her medication.  They're concerned that she may not be aware of where she is or what she is doing.

Investigators say nothing at the scene suggests her disappearance involved foul play.  However, she left her purse, wallet, cell phone and other items behind. Her car still sits in the family's driveway.

"It's not illegal for an adult to be missing but obviously it's still a concern," said Lt. Jeff Kramer with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.  "If you have someone who voluntarily chose to go somewhere and start life over, move to a new city and start over, you still need documents like your birth certificate to acquire a new identification."

Netzler's family believes she may be hanging around homeless shelters.  They say she was deeply religious and wanted to help people.  The only items she took with her were her bibles.

"We hope she's not going to hurt herself, but we're still going to look for her even though she doesn't want to be looked for," Daniel said.

Anyone with information regarding Julia's disappearance is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 719-390-5555.
