Earthly Body Located: Courtland Read Lambert, 23 - Maryland

The body of a Centreville man who had been reported missing a week earlier was recovered Friday afternoon near his home, according to a news release from the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, in Baltimore, identified the body as that of Courtland Read Lambert, 23.
Searchers found the body in a wooded area about three-quarters of a mile from Lambert's home, near Stafford Road, a private road near Grange Hall Road, according to sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Dale Patrick.
"Unfortunately, this is not the outcome we had hoped for," said Sheriff Gary Hofmann.
Police determined that Lambert took his own life.
Lambert was reported missing March 13. He was last seen the day before, leaving his home. Family members told police that Lambert was possibly distraught over a delay in his plans to go into the military. They believed he had a shotgun.
An aerial search was conducted March 13, followed by a more detailed search near Lambert's home with police dogs and search and rescue teams March 14.
After several days had passed and no one had come forward to say they had seen Lambert or given him a ride, police believed they should concentrate their search in the area of his home, according to Patrick. More than 70 people participated in a more intensive search on Friday, March 21.
