Press Release: Missing Man's Family Pleads For Answers

The family of missing Brandon Lawson, age 26, who disappeared near Bronte, TX on August 09, 2013, is asking for the public's help to aid them in solving his disappearance.

 (Press Release) - Feb. 26, 2014 - ABILENE, Texas -- Bradley and Kimberly Lawson, parents of missing Brandon Lawson, seek answers as to what has happened to their son? "It's been nearly seven months and this is going on way too long." stated his father, Bradley. The Lawson's , along with Brandon's common law wife and  grandparents have made another trip to Bronte to hang more missing posters hoping someone will have needed answers.Lawson disappeared in the early morning hours on August 9, 2013 shortly after phoning his brother to bring him gas as his truck ran out. Not long after he phoned 911 asking for help.
Ladessa Lofton, explains  "We've done as much as we can possibly do from hiring private investigators to private planes for aerial searches to securing the services of LostNMissing Inc., a nonprofit that assists families of missing find their loved ones. We've hung posters and continually update the public on his Facebook page but what we need more than anything is more searches and answers."

 "We have 4 children, ages 1, 2, 7 and a 10 year old that keep asking for their daddy. It was heartbreaking to have my daughter say that she is praying about her dad and that God talked to her and said that 'he is in a better place." What does a mother say to that?" Ladessa further explained, "I've told the children that we will never give up and I will always try my hardest to find him. Nobody is  giving up."

Recently the family has learned that Verizon cell towers pinged an area where they believe was the last location that Lawson's phone sent signals. The area is approximately 3 miles from where his truck was found abandoned and a mile from where previous searches stopped. The family is asking that law enforcement enable them to have organized searches by a professional search and rescue team, however, at this time law enforcement has not given their approval.  "It's not fair that Brandon could be laying out there in a field and if he is, we want him with us for a proper burial. No human should be allowed to just wither away in the elements of the weather and not be looked for." exclaimed Lofton."

Complicating the case is the unsolved 911 call that Brandon made the morning he disappeared. Cynthia Caron, president and founder of LostNMissing, explains "We've heard the 911 call and we firmly believe that some of the needed answers are in that call, however, Brandon's voice was very fast and clearly with anxiety and has not been able to be transcribed with 100% accuracy." She further eplains, "What we do know is Brandon asked for law enforcement assistance and asked the dispatcher to"please hurry."  What we do not know are a number of sentences which are unclear and can be interpreted as various different words, or phrases, in numerous ways. We've publicly posted the call hoping someone with a good ear or sound equipment may be able to filter those words to bring more information to his case."  Caron added,."I'm pretty confident that someone else holds the answers as to what has happened to Brandon and we ask if anyone has information to please do the right thing and contact authorities or even mail an anonymous note if they must. His children and family deserve to know where he is and what has happened."

The family wasn't told that Brandon phoned 911 and was led to believe that he merely fled his abandoned truck and may have been "in hiding" due to an old warrant from 2005.  "I know Brandon would never have abandoned his children, his parents and siblings. I know something happened to Brandon and for the past six months I've had little to no help and have to read ridiculous rumors about my husband and myself. Brandon worked hard in those oil fields to provide for his family. He would never have disappeared of his own choice."

The family approached law enforcement after his disappearance when they discovered on a cell phone bill that he called 911 the morning of his disappearance. "We've yet to know why the 911 Dispatcher didn't send help for Brandon but instead reported a call from a passerby who saw Brandon's truck parked crooked on the roadway.  Why didn't they alert the Sheriff's office that Brandon called and needed help?", stated Lofton.

The Lawson Family and LostNMissing recently rolled out a website for Brandon, www.missingbrandonlawson.com , which contains numerous recordings of the 911 call, from a slow pace to the original pace, with the hopes of receiving tips or leads. The family asks that the public direct themselves to the website and also to his Facebook page titled "Help Find Brandon Lawson" and that any other page on Facebook they may find is not approved by the family.
