St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's authorities say there's still no sign of a married Reserve couple whose relatives reported them missing on Wednesday evening. The couple's family said they have not seen or heard from 34-year-old Kenneth Joseph and his 29-year-old wife, Lakeitha Joseph since Tuesday evening, Feb. 18.
While authorities have not said they suspect foul play, a spokesman said Thursday that they were "looking at all possibilities."
"There's been no contact, no sign of them, no activity on their cell phones," St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre said Friday. "There are no obvious signs of foul play. . . . We are investigating it as a welfare concern."
Tregre said the couple lived alone and did not have children.
"They are just missing," he said.
Hewitt Williams, Lakeitha Joseph's father, said it's unlike the couple to not call.
"It's very unusual for them to go off and not let anyone know," he said.
Williams said he doesn't know what to think and is "just waiting."
"I don't know any more information than anyone else," he said. "It's just a waiting process."
Relatives reported the couple missing after finding their house on Homewood Place unlocked. There was no sign of the couple or the vehicle Kenneth Joseph borrowed from his sister on Tuesday evening around 6:30 p.m. Relatives told authorities they have not been able to reach the couple on their cell phones.
Authorities said Kenneth Joseph's sister told detectives that her brother routinely borrowed her silver 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, but would generally return it the same day. The vehicle has Louisiana license plate, TVN 993.
Anyone with information on the couple is asked to call the Sheriff's Office tip line at 985.359.8477 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.
