Georgetown police said a 47-year-old man who has been missing since Jan. 6 has been found. An off-duty detective driving through the area of Northwest Boulevard and Whisper Oaks saw Ronald Lee Stemp at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said.
Several residents had contacted police Saturday with information about seeing Stemp at various businesses. Stemp, was taken to a local hospital for medical issues and treatment, police said. Stemp said he had never left the Georgetown area, police said.
Stemp also said he knew officials were looking for him, police said. He had previously expressed suicidal thoughts and was not believed to be taking his prescribed medications when he was reported missing. Relatives did not report him missing until Jan. 22 because he had always returned when he left previously, police said.
