State Police are investigating the "suspicious disappearance" of a 37-year-old Avon man, who was last seen on New Year's Day, climbing into a car with two men.
James J. Robertson was last seen getting into a silver Toyota Camry in Avon at 12:50 p.m. on Jan. 1.
The two men allegedly displayed law enforcement badges and handguns at Robertson's home, before leaving with him in the car, police said.
Detectives assigned to Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey's office have developed two composite sketches of the men allegedly connected to the disappearance.
The first suspect is a white man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a stocky build and graying hair, in his 50s or 60s.
The second suspect is a white man, about 6 feet tall, with a thin frame and light brown hair, about 50 years old.
Detectives do not know why the men would seek Robertson out, or whether he knew them, said district attorney's spokesman David Traub.
"These are all questions we need to answer," Traub said.
Police asked anyone with information to contact local police or State Police at 508-820-2121.
