#MISSING: Corey Newell, 32 - Meadow Lakes, ALASKA (the snowmachine he was one was located abandoned on Cloudy Lake)

Friends and family of Corey Newell are seeking the public's help in finding him.

Newell was last seen Dec. 29, and his snowmachine was found two days later on New Year's Eve on Cloudy Lake in the Pittman Road area.

Newell's mother, Debibe Davis, who owns the In and Out Deli in Palmer, said she believes there's something fishy about the way the vehicle was found.

"No one believes that he would have walked away from his snowmachine," reads a flier she is distributing seeking information.

In an interview, Davis said that's her own opinion. Law enforcement hasn't backed her up on that. But her son did depend on that machine.

"He didn't have a driver's license, so he used his snowmachine for pleasure as well as for transportation through the trails," she said.

Newell is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall with brown hair and hazel eyes. He weighs 190 pounds. Davis describes him as "long and lanky." Professionally, she said he's a glass blower.

She said that the search for her son has drawn in multiple friends and family members who have canvassed the Valley.

"He's almost 33. I'm not a daily presence in his life like his friends are and his friends know all of his stomping grounds, so yes, all of them have been working together to try to find him," she said.

The flier offers a reward for information and asks anyone who has seen him to call Alaska State Troopers at 269-5086.
