Earthly Body Located: Sylvester Williams, 32 - Detroit, MICHIGAN

For the last week, friends and family searched abandoned houses on the city's west side where 32-year-old Sylvester Williams' cell phone was last active. Thursday his body was found in a vacant Detroit home.

Williams was driving his girlfriend's car, a 2012 black Chevy Malibu. The car was found in front of an abandoned house on Puritan Street. Traces of blood were found in the car. His body was eventually discovered inside a different abandoned house on Log Cabin Street.

The abandoned home was also where the police found Dynasty Miles, the young mother who was abducted from a Beni Hana, shot and killed nearly a year ago.

Police say the cases are not connected but, because of great cooperation between Allen Park and the Detroit police departments, they're learning who may be responsible for Williams' murder.

Sources tell Fox 2's Taryn Asher the night Williams was missing, he was lured away by a phone call from a person investigators believe was posing as someone he met on a dating website. Williams drove into Detroit where several men were waiting to rob him instead. They beat him, took money, shoved him in the trunk of his car and drove him to another location. They went to shoot him but realized he was already dead.

Police learned what happened because one of the men, who stole the Chevy Malibu and then abandoned it on Puritan, first went to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. He left a receipt with his personal information behind.
Police tracked him down, getting him to confess and reveal where Williams' body was. Another man was arrested and Detroit police, who are now investigating the murder, are looking for three others.
