A search continued Monday for a woman after her vehicle was found submerged in a retention pond Saturday night.
Kettering police are working to drain the pond in the 4700 block of Hempstead Station Road as authorities continue to search for the body of 87-year-old Margaret Spilker, of Kettering.
Crews worked overnight Sunday into Monday afternoon pumping the water from the 8-foot-deep pond. Police said they would not release any information on the case until the search was complete.
Spilker's vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, was pulled out of the pond after police discovered it Saturday night. Officers had been dispatched at approximately 9:30 p.m. on reports that a vehicle was submerged there.
Spilker was last seen at 2 p.m. Saturday and was headed to Kroger on East Stroop Road, according to a release from Kettering police.
There is no foul play suspected in her disappearance.
Spilker is described as a white female, 5-foot-7 weighing 140 pounds with short brown hair.
If you see the missing woman, call Kettering police at (937) 296-2555 or your local law enforcement agency.
