Authorities are investigating the disappearance of a 25-year-old Beaufort man reported missing in the Charleston area, according to a news release from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
Both the Charleston County and Beaufort County sheriff's offices are searching for William Alexander Apps, who was last seen at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Ion area of Mount Pleasant. Apps is white, about 6-foot-1 and 234 pounds, with blue-green eyes and black hair, the release said.
He is a law student in Charleston and a graduate of Beaufort Academy, according to an email from state Rep. Shannon Erickson, a family friend. Apps was trying to sell his Chevrolet pickup truck on Craigslist and is believed to have been meeting someone interested in purchasing it when he disappeared, the email said.
Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner said both agencies have been searching for Apps since Friday, and that deputies from Beaufort were currently in Charleston assisting the search there.
Anyone with information can call Charleston County sheriff's detective Barry Goldstein at 843-308-7339 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
