Sheriff's authorities are asking for help in locating a missing 11-year-old Allendale girl.
Shelia Gutierrez-Rivera was last seen at her family's home at 6621 Martini Drive, Apt. 23 at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Gutierrez-Rivera told her mother she was leaving for a neighbor's house to do homework, but the mother later learned her daughter never arrived there. The girl was not found in a search of the neighborhood.
Gutierrez-Rivera's mother reported her missing at about 6 p.m. Tuesday. She later learned her daughter may be with an 18-year-old male family friend whose whereabouts are also unknown.
Police do not believe the girl is in any danger, but are asking for help from anyone who may have seen the girl. Information can be passed on to Ottawa County Central Dispatch at 1-800-249-0911 or to Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT.
Gutierrez-Rivera is 4'9'' and weighs 110 pounds. She has light brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a Hollister hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and Adidas shoes. She was carrying a multi-colored backpack with musical notes.
