Missing Berkley girl found in Fall River
BERKLEY —
A missing 14-year-old Berkley girl has been found, police said.
Jenna Cote was considered an “endangered runaway” by police and a national missing children organization since she disappeared from family on Aug. 8. The Berkley Police Department said she was found this week.
An investigating officer from the Berkley police who handled the case was not immediately available for comment.
Cote took one of the cars of her grandparents, her legal guardians, and ran away in August. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children put out a missing poster of Cote, and explained that the Berkley teen was at risk to victimization while living on her own and possibly relying on others.
Berkley Police Sgt. Arthur Newhook said that Cote was found unharmed on Monday in Fall River.
“She was unharmed and appeared to be in good health,” Newhook said. “We had officers out searching for her, following leads. We got a lead on Monday about her being in Fall River and that’s where we found her.”
Newhook said the girl was returned to her grandparents, who are her legal guardians, in Berkley.
