The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert in seeking the public’s help locating a missing student.
Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Terry Leathers II, 22, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, according to a press release from the Center for Missing Persons.
He was last seen Thursday evening in a dormitory at Elizabeth City State University, acting campus police Chief John Manley said on Friday.
Manley described Leathers as black, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds.
According to Manley, Leathers was last seen wearing a black shirt and light-colored jeans. He was carrying a black-and-gray book bag.
Manley said Leathers is described as a quiet man who, to his knowledge, has not had a prior history of disappearing.
Manley said foul play is not suspected in Leathers’ disappearance.
Anyone with any information about Leathers’ whereabouts is urged to phone campus police at (252) 335-3266.
